Pre-requisites/ Module – Aims, Learning Outcomes, Syllabus Outline

A.     PRE-REQUISITES

Students should have a basic working knowledge of Urdu Language and Literature. 

B. AIMS

 

In this module, the language will be taught through making simple sentences in Persian Language. There will also be translation work. In addition, the artistic characteristics of some popular poets will be analysed. Some Persian poems and verses will also be studied.

C. LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

Students will get acquainted to elementary Persian language and appreciate some Persian poems and verses of famous poets.

 

 Having successfully completed this module, the students should be able to:

ASSESSMENT

•      The module will be taught for two semesters.

•      The module will be assessed over 100 marks and will be as follows:

o   Assessment will be based on a written examination of 3-hour duration and on Continuous Assessment done during the semester.

o   The Continuous Assessment will count for 40% marks of the module and Written Examination will count for 60% marks of the module.

o   Continuous Assessment may be based on seminars, practical work and /or assignments and should include at least one class test.
